Somatic Symptoms and Potential Interventions
Somatization is prevalent among individuals from an Asian background. However, somatization has been defined and operationalized predominantly from a Western perspective, which generalization of the prior definition and measurements on Asian clients is problematic. Thus,
we aim to investigate how somatization is defined and manifested in Asian culture. Relatedly, we study the psychometric properties of PHQ-15 with an Asian sample, which is one of the most widely used assessments to measure somatic symptoms across the globe.
